Tesla Dog Mode enables live feed for pet owners in new holiday update

Tesla released its Holiday Software Update with various new features, including new improvements to Tesla Dog Mode, a favorite among many Tesla owners who love their furry friends.

Although named Dog Mode, it works for any pet and provides both owners and anyone noticing a pet in the vehicle a message that the pet is in a temperature-controlled vehicle and is not at risk of harm. The climate is set by the owner, and a large message on the screen informs anyone passing by that the vehicle is set to a certain temperature that is comfortable for the animal.

Owners out and about may have some concerns about their pets while running their errands or whatever the case may be. Tesla’s new Dog Mode feature has a fix for that. By enabling Live Camera, owners can see a live feed of their pet inside the vehicle. Allowing owners to view their pets in real-time provides an additional layer to their peace of mind.

In October, Tesla rolled out another update that enables Sentry Mode and Dog Mode to work in tandem. Tesla owners can activate both features at the same time, and this prevents Sentry Mode alarms from going off while the pet is in the vehicle.

ā€œYour vehicle and pets can be kept safe by activating Dog Mode and Sentry Mode at the same time. Sentry Mode alarms are silenced if Dog Mode and Sentry Mode are both enabled. Mobile app notifications will still be sent, and video footage will still be saved,ā€ the release notes stated.
