Apple issues internal Leopard Gold Master candidate builds

Leopard's official stamp of approval as Gold Master is drawing near, as Apple …

Our spider senses are tingling: Leopard's final release as Gold Master is drawing near. We've already seen the OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Gold Master release candidate floating around in the wild today (*cough*), and our sources confirm that a GM candidate build has been released internally at Apple. This is corroborated by a report at MacRumors stating essentially the same thing.

The company has not officially labeled the build Gold Master yet, as it hopes to complete internal testing before popping the cork. From what we know, this is not the first GM release candidate (and may not be the last), although the end is most certainly nigh.

Earlier rumors have pegged October 26 (as well as the 22-27th) as Leopard Day, but October 26 is exactly two weeks away from today. If the company goes GM over the weekend, it had better employ a darn fast duplication facility if it wants to be able to ship hard copies of Leopard by then. But it is Apple—anything is possible.
